How to proceed in case of dental
emergency
Tooth pain: When some of your dental
pieces rouse sharp pain, refresh the mouth
vigorously with hot water to take away food
remains. Use silk dental to eliminate any
residue that could stay between tooth,
before going to the dentist. If there is
inflammation apply cold compresses in the
cheek, never use aspirin over pain teeth or
in the gum. If the problem persist, go to
the dentist as soon as possible.
Orthodontics problems: If the teeth
are causing irritation, cover the end of the
wire with a little of cotton, bees wax o
gauze until you visit the orthodontist. If
the wire has penetrated the cheek, tongue or
gum, don't try to take it away, go
immediately to the dentist. If an
orthodontics appliance slackens or gets
broken, take both, the appliance and the
piece, and go to the dentist.
Teeth loosen by hit: If the teeth are
dirty, rinse softly with water, do not shake.
With keenness collocate your teeth in the
original position. If this is not possible,
sink it into a glass with water or milk cold
and go immediately to the dentist (less than
30 minutes if it is possible) carry on the
piece.
Broken teeth: Clean softly food
remains of damaged zone with warm water and
collocate cold compresses over the cheek in
the area affected to reduce inflammation. Go
to the dentist immediately.
Tongue or lip bite: Apply direct
pressure over bleeding area with clean gauze.
If there is inflammation apply cold
compresses. If bleeding continue, go to
emergency room.
Objects between tooth: Try to remove
the object with silk dental. Guide the
strand to avoid cut the gum. If you cant
remove it, go to the dentist. Don't try to
remove it sharp instruments.
Possible jaw fracture: Unmoving jaw
with a tissue, tie or towel. If there is
inflammation, apply cold compresses. Call
your dentist or go immediately to emergency
room. |
